FRESH ROASTED IN ALASKA
Since 1986
Our Story
It Started With a Cart
In the spring of 1986, Brad turned a humble espresso cart into something much bigger. Inspired by Seattle's emerging coffee culture, he brought specialty espresso to Anchorage. From that first cart on 4th Avenue, Kaladi Brothers Coffee began roasting their own beans, built a roastery on Brayton Drive, and slowly grew into the company you know today.
40 Years Later
13 Cafes and Countless Partners
40 years later, our roasters on Brayton Drive still produce all the coffee enjoyed through our 13 cafe locations and countless partner cafes statewide. Made in Alaska. By Alaskans. For Alaskans.
Catalyst for Community
More Than Coffee
Kaladi Brothers Coffee has always been about people. Our cafes are gathering places where ideas are shared, relationships are built, and communities grow. We actively contribute time and resources to local events, charities, and causes across Alaska because we believe a great cup of coffee is best served alongside a strong community.
About the Goat
The Legend of Kaladi
Legend has it that coffee was discovered by an Ethiopian goat herder named Kaldi, who noticed his goats dancing with unusual energy after eating berries from a certain shrub. We threw in an extra vowel to come up with "Kaladi", drew a bright red goat as our logo, and made it a symbol of Alaska's finest coffee. There are no brothers at Kaladi Brothers Coffee...just one big, happy Alaskan family.
