Coffee of the Month: 40th Anniversary Blend

Coffees from Papua New Guinea have become essential to Kaladi’s DNA, adding depth, herbal complexity, and tons of hefty body to some of our flagship blends like Trieste, Red Goat, and now our 40th Anniversary Blend. In our early days we relied heavily on Java, then later on Sumatra for this role, but over the years Papua New Guinea’s coffees have made big strides to becoming a much cleaner and reliably delicious Indonesian coffee that brings the syrupy body to blends that we were looking for.

Another longstanding, special coffee for Kaladi Brothers has been coffee from producer Diego Guardia of Hacienda Sonora in Costa Rica. We’ve purchased his coffee for 11 years straight, sometimes as a core Costa Rican offering, and other times as a featured Coffee of the Month or Limited Release. We’ve always loved his coffees, attention to variety separations, and his vibrant honey & natural process fruit-forward coffees.

Together, these coffees represent our love of high volume, workhorse, trustworthy blending coffees and smaller single producer coffees with tons of unique character. We love how these coffees work together to bring bassy dark chocolate, herbal notes along with the more winy, dried fruit character of the Costa Rican coffee.
